Tag Janitor
Audit every ticket tag, see where each one is still used, then rename, merge or delete — with a confirmation that says what it cannot change.
Why it exists
Zendesk's own Tags page shows, in its own words, "the top 100 most used tags in the last two months". Tag Janitor reads every ticket through the incremental export, so it is capped at neither 100 tags nor 60 days. And before you delete anything, it tells you which triggers, automations, macros, views, SLA policies, ticket fields and organizations still reference the tag — because a rules-only view calls tags safe that are not.
What it does
- Inventory — every tag, its ticket count, closed-ticket share, last use, and what it is used in.
- Reverse index — pick a rule and see its tags, including ticket field values and organization tags.
- Duplicates — typo, case and separator variants clustered together.
- Bulk rename, merge, delete — behind a dialog that states what will change, and what Zendesk will reject, before anything runs.
What it does not do
No backend, no account, no signup, no tracking. Pure HTML/JS inside the Zendesk App Framework — your data never leaves your Zendesk instance. Details in the privacy policy.
